Once I decided I was going to take the plunge and head off into the wilderness (go travelling) one of the first questions that popped into my head was…

Well it wasn’t an easy task. But after extensive research, packing, unpacking and repacking, I feel I nailed it. Here’s a handy little checklist for you:

Clothes – 1 weeks worth of day clothes & a couple of evening outfits
Swimwear
Sandals
Beach Flip Flops
Microfibre Quick Dry Towel
Toiletries
Sudo Cream – fixes everything
Tweezers
Nail Cutters

Suntan Lotion
Lip Balm
Bug Spray
Tiger Balm – great for bites

Mosquito Net – the pop up kind, it was worth every penny and lb

Padlock – you could lose a key so get the combination kind
Cable Luggage Lock – to secure your backpack to your room
First Aid – plasters, Imodium, Dioralyte, motion sickness tablets, pain killers

Swiss Army Knife – if you’re planning on trekking

Passport
Tickets
Documents – photocopies of passport, cards, emergency numbers
Currencies – always carry some $1 notes
2nd Credit Card – keep them in separate places
